UFC 324: Gaethje vs. Pimblett takes place end-January (Jan 25), Live from the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, NV; it has been a controversial click so far. With Ilia Topuria peeling off due to family reasons, he has informed that he’d be out of action for a while. While that has opened up the top spot for a lightweight feature main event, fans were expecting Arman Tsarukyan to finally get his due.

Tsarukyan fueled up talks of challenging for the title again, but was booked to face Dan Hooker to climb the ladder. That he did successfully at UFC Fight Night 265 – aka UFC Qatar. Yet, the #1 contender was snubbed for the top shot, with Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett booked to fight for the interim UFC lightweight title. Fan clique isn’t fond of the next UFC 325: Volkanovski vs. Lopes 2 card either, which overlooks two top contenders for a rematch.

Odds

Yet unbeaten, UFC 324 headliner Pimblett (23-3 MMA, 7-0 UFC) makes up the digits to be in the contender club. He defeated Michael Chandler last at UFC 314. According to FanDuel’s opening odds, new blood Pimblett is marked as an early -230 favorite. Former UFC interim champ Justin Gaethje is at +176.

UFC 324 Co-Main Event on Paramount+

The epic move to Paramount+ at UFC 324 sees a Women’s Bantamweight – Title Fight – and the return of a GOAT next. WMMA Bantamweight bruiser Kayla Harrison won her gold at the UFC 316: Dvalishvili vs. O’Malley 2 PPV Co-mains; she submitted Julianna Peña for it.

Team ATT’s Harrison is a two-time Olympian and PFL starlet. When a titleholder at the other side, she and Amanda Nunes had run up quite the banter for a fight. Nunes is an ATT alum and had worked up some friction, leaving the ranks feeling some negligence towards her. Harrison’s current four-fight streak includes Aspen Ladd in her final PFL bout, and ever since Doug Harrison made her spectacular UFC 300 debut, Nunes has even kept hinting that this might be the one she returns for.

This matchup between big names and ATT Stablemates had the markings of the first pay-per-view event of the Paramount+ era. But Harrison is content to finally face the legendary “Lioness” Nunes (23-5 MMA, 16-2 UFC) and prove she’s better than the best.

Odds

Harrison (19-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) beat out Ketlen Vieira via UD to earn her title shot in just her third UFC fight; she then swept out Peña via R2 Submission. Now, when she defends her 135-pound crown, DraftKings Sportsbooks have her pegged as an early -162 favorite on the money line.

UFC 324 return Nunes is a +176 underdog, which is the first time she has been down on the opening lines since 2018 vs. Cris Cyborg. After defending the women’s bantamweight title against Irene Aldana at UFC 289, “The Lioness” retired in 2023. This summer, the former two-weight UFC champion was inducted into the UFC HOF.

Nunes showed her desire to return to action ‘full-time’ during a fan Q&A session at UFC 316 PPV, which might propel closing odds closer to the fight.
