The first Noche UFC: Grasso vs. Shevchenko 2 fight night had 6 Mexican staples fighting, with a flyweight clash in the top bill. The 2nd Noche UFC PPV card was a 1/1 event at the ‘Sphere’, Las Vegas and was a title doubleheader. Noche UFC 3 has the electric featherweight Jean Silva hoping to make it big with a win this Saturday.
UFC featherweight contender Jean Silva plans to make a statement against his peer and a similar 2024 breakout star, Diego Lopes, fighting out of Puebla, Mexico (Ex-LUX Fight League Alum). If he gets a statement win over the No.2-ranked featherweight at UFC Fight Night: Lopes vs. Silva (AKA UFC Fight Night 259 and Noche UFC 3), he can make a case for gold, straight.
But the 28-year-old striker out of Team Fighting Nerd is willing to trade diamond for gold at the moment, and settle in, hoping to pay for his wedding.
Dana is the Godfather who will sponsor our wedding, he is going to bring the singer, Belo, that’s my wife’s favorite singer to sing…We’re not just going to have the wedding in Vegas just because it’s Vegas, there’s history for us in Vegas. There was Contender Series, there was my first fight, that’s where I’m going to become world champion. I want to get married at the UFC PI. We’re gonna get married there, it’s gonna be a great thing… I can envision my wife coming into the wedding wearing my belt,

‘Lord’ Silva wasn’t just a mere ‘Breakout’ fighter – he was a big driver in the ebb of the weight class. Silva’s two ballot wins in 14 days (UFC 303 PPV, UFC on ESPN 59) tied the record for the third-fastest turnaround in competition. It gives champ Khamzat Chimaev and his 10-day record a run for his money.
Akin to Chechenya ‘Borz’, Silva was a pure specialist of quick, and down-and-dirty, winning 3-0 in 2024. He punctuated a short-term Fight of the Night TKO of Drew Dober last July. Then he took on and defeated Melsik Baghdasaryan at UFC Fight Night 252. Silva specifically asked for pro grappler Bryce Mitchell and then foiled him via second-round submission at UFC 314: Volkanovski vs. Lopes.

Meanwhile, Lopes looped from a 2-1 stat in ’23 and a SOTY contender at UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs. Font to big names like Sodiq Yusuff, former title challenger Brian Ortega, and even Dan Ige, on just under 4 hours’ notice. So it’s a given that the victor in this clash will be that much closer to the 145lbs crown. Alongside, after his UFC 314 highlight, Silva made a wild plea to UFC boss Dana White to be his best man and fund the wedding.
Currently, if he gets the ‘W’ again, Silva is in a win-win-win situation, by far. Per the fighter, the UFC CEO has already given his nod on funding his wedding, and even financed a Brazilian singer called Belo, whom his wife is fond of. A win and nuptial reception at the UFC PI Vegas is a legendary matter for any fighter. But it all depends on this weekend, and what Lopes has to say about it.
Noche UFC 3’s Diego Lopes bills ‘strange’ Jean Silva is getting cold feet ahead of fight

No. 2-ranked top Featherweight Diego Lopes is sporting that kind of grave aura when a hunter is ready for his second coming. The Team Lobo Gym standout was a recent title challenger and went the distance in his bid against Alexander Volkanovski. Ahead of Saturday’s Noche UFC 3, Lopes isn’t sure the rival is sporting a similar resolution.
Two things happened this week: first, Jean Silva went viral when he shed tears signing posters before media day interviews. This is ‘Lord’ Silva’s first headlining spot and was thus quite an emotional moment. Second, he and Lopes had a face-to-face when Lopes’ team was on the way out and he was hitching an escalator ride. The matter went quite viral as well at the UFC Host Hotel; security personnel ensured nothing even happened, with Lopes mouthing off stuff.
Silva took the escalator ride up, first taunting then looking stern. Although the two haven’t displayed much personal animosity, Silva recently ripped Lopes for representing Mexico despite being Brazilian. Maybe just his way of selling the pre-fight stage. That subtle jab landed, and Lopes, for his part, thinks the rival got ‘scared’ looking into his eyes.
This guy is a little bit strange, you know? …Same time he talks shit on the internet, but also tries to be nice. I don’t understand this. I looked this guy in the eyes yesterday when we crossed paths in the hotel, …This guy [was] little bit scared.

Silva has been thrilling ever since his Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS): Season 7, Week 5 start. Matter of fact, after the recent UFC Fight Night 258 main event in Paris, Fighting Nerd’s Lord is one name that still hasn’t lost the zero in his record. He is on a 5-fight tear, and his winning streak could go further after Saturday’s Noche UFC 3. Only time will tell if he is actually dreading the top talent Lopes or if he could hold his own and continue his winning ways.
